Coordinator

Mrs. Moyers taught for 23 years in private and public education. During her teaching career, she held various teaching positions in the Staunton City and Rockingham County areas. Mrs. Moyers’ teaching experiences include: teaching special education classes for students with autism and emotional disabilities, teaching alternative education, and teaching kindergarten and second grades in the general education setting. Mrs. Moyers also worked as a reading specialist at John Wayland Elementary School in Rockingham County. In the Fall of 2019, Mrs. Moyers joined the VDOE Region 5 T-TAC team at JMU where she currently works as an education coordinator focusing on school quality and literacy programs. Mrs. Moyers is trained in multisensory structured language to teach reading and writing skills and is a facilitator of Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS).  She provides support to teachers in Region 5 with reading instruction and interventions. Mrs. Moyers also teaches courses for the IECE program and the EFEX department.  In her free time, Mrs. Moyers enjoys hiking, listening to music, reading, and spending time with her family.
